Minimalist Taiji Theme

Please test my new Minimalist Taiji theme: Use the drop down menu in the sidebar to switch. Then let me know which one you like more.

In 2011, I updated the Theme! It’s the Black-Line Theme now.

I favor mnml-taiji over the current theme, and it’s likely that RealTaiji.com switches to it fully in June (unless there’s great opposition).

I redesigned Mr. Leo Babauta’s mnmlist theme. I added

  • a few more features
  • subtle yin-yang graphics
  • and a few fugue icons

I hope you like it.

No Nasty Ads

Part of the idea rolls out of some thoughts I shared with Bob Patterson at Striking Thoughts: mainly regarding my animosity for advertisements that use large, insulting graphics. Couple that with the fact that Google Ads pay very little, and it’s a strain to ask you to look at them.

I appreciate informational advertising. It’s helpful because I like buying stuff, and when I want something, I enjoy some ease when searching for it.

But aggressive graphics and insulting images do little to inform. Often they are tactically employed to manipulate. You know: the ones that rotate, roll, switch, and flip-flop, dancing images, often half nude. It annoys and insults me, especially when attempting to read a decent article. I suspect that I’m not the only one.

It seems that annoying ads have become commonplace. Big traffic sites lead the way and Google encourages bouncy ads too. Boo.

I bet you’re as annoyed with aggressive ads and gaudy websites as I am.

If so, then you’ll like mnml-taiji.

Clearer Online Taiji Classes

Here’s another (and even better) reason to switch: Taiji classes are online at RealTaiji.com, and  I want every student and user of these online classes to have a crystal clear experience.

So they are:

  1. Free from ad clutter
  2. Presented in a simple, clean (not-gaudy) design
  3. Served in H.D. Quality Video

Besides the ads issues, there’s no sense mucking it up with a gaudy typography.

And using vimeo to stream HD Quality (better than DVD) Taiji classes online has been an impressive adventure.

The Bottom Line

mnml-taiji theme emphasizes typography.

It shows best on bigger LCD displays because the text is smaller, tidier, and lined up impeccably. The main font used is Calibri: get it if you don’t have it.

Emphasizing typography offers a better view of the few images and videos that will appear here.

Enjoy… because I strive to emulate the internal, natural beauty that flows from simplicity, I hope that…

This simple theme reveals the natural beauty of real Taiji.
