Governing Experiences Produces Freedom
Note again: these are the rules. These regulations govern and structure your conduct and action.
They are not quite open to interpretation. Sure you can change the words to suit you, and I encouraged you to do that. But their meanings: that part is clear and precise. Unlike something open to interpretation, like Principles, these Rules are not bendable.
Great consequences come to those who forget and violate these rules. Can you think of the consequences?
The Rules are goofy. Compared to rules you may be used to:
do pay taxes
don’t step on that lawn
do say “I’m fine”
don’t forget to tip
do stop at the sign
don’t speed….
The 3 Rules seem silly. And while you smile (please: give little grin), look closely…you never really need to stop or to tip or to pay taxes (whoah, easy Tiger…this is not legal advice) and you can step on lawns, say something beyond “I’m fine”, and speed around town.
The consequences and punishments for disobeying societal rules and laws vary from place to place, from time to time. And those consequences are minor, petty, trivial compared to forgetting and violating the 3 Revolutionizing Rules.
Think about it. Get a clear image…what happens when you lose Wonder? How long can you go on pretending Boredom, being Unfit, and feeling Worn-out? What happens when you lose Awe?
It’s Not a Mistake: It’s Called More-on Unmasking
I use the Rules often. But I forget them occasionally. Life’s little piles accumulate in corners. Laundry and dishes get burdensome; my website gets messy; my relationships occasionally strain. And besides—I can always find something mundane, like shopping or fueling the car or paying bills, to encourage forgetting my priorities. But…
These 3 Rules…they pull off my Boredom Mask. The 3 Rules awaken Wonder.
I remember my wife’s beauty and I see her shine. I see my boy’s beaming, whether he spills, messes, and whines. Or when he cleans-up, beams smiles-big, and laughs a lot, it’s easy to remember…the Rules… Leaving me a sweet smile, I leak a grin wherever I go, whatever I do.
When I peek at my movement art, Taijiquan (Qigong and Baguazhang) through this Revolution-Eyezing Mask, I see better…so many infinite layers in a simple movement art. These tidy rules keep it real.
My time is short. Solving the mysteries of the internal arts requires focus. So I focus: pull my head out of theoretical concepts and press my body, my energy, to solve so many mysteries…without ever hoping to do so.
You can too.

Good, to return to this. If the Rules apply, they apply every day. Every day I begin again: I need to be awake!
“…so many infinite layers in a simple movement art.” Yes, we have more work to do.
“My time is short. Solving the mysteries of the internal arts requires focus.” Indeed.
Thanks!
