The Short — Explosive — Tai Chi Chuan Fighting Form
Learn a short Taiji form. Small San Sau is a Quick-Fight Method from Old Taiji Masters. It shows exciting and intense fighting and healing applications of fundamental Taijiquan movements, derived from Yang Long Form, and inherent in all T’ai-chi.
We examine Ward-Off, Grasp Swallow’s Tail, Fishes in Eight, and Single Whip both at a gentle, easy stride (yin) and at a quick, cracking pace (yang). Balance your body-mind-spirit through calm twisting, relaxed coiling, centered shaking, and bounce-stepping.
This basic-level Small San Sau workshop reveals Small San Sau’s easy repetitions and simple motions demonstrate powerful fighting and healing principles of Taijiquan, and it will also prepare you for Salt Lake City’s World Taiji Boxing Association Workshop, with Eli Montaigue, September 27 and 28, 2008 .

Wow this was such a great Workshop! There were people from all skill levels, from beginner to advanced and everyone of us were able to push our limits to a point of comfortable exhaustion. I can hardly wait to see what Steve has instore for us at the next workshop.

I still can’t get over the fact that the folks who came to the workshop who had either no tai chi experience or who never touched this awesome form before were able to catch on as quickly as they did. Having been working with Small San Sau for about 2 years now I thought there was plenty of material to help me refine and correct what i’m currently doing with the form. None of this comes as a surprise when you take into account Steven’s thorough and articulate teaching methods and the enthusiasm and energy brought by each of the participants to yet another great real taiji workshop. I know it was intense training due to the bruises on my arms and the way my head hit the pillow hard that night. Thanks to all for the inspiring practice!
